Privacy policy
Pitprop, by Pitprop Works. Effective October 10, 2026.
Pitprop is an app that marching band programs use to look after their equipment and organize the people who move it. This page says what the app keeps and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Your sign-in details. When you sign in with Microsoft, Google or Apple, that company tells us your email address and name. We use them for one thing: to check that your program has added you, and to show your name beside what you record. We never see or store your password.
- What your program records. Equipment lists, inspections, repair notes, performance days, assignments, sign-up lists, procedures, and any photos or documents people attach.
- Names of people in the program. Volunteers are listed by name. Students are listed by first name and last initial only.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent information to anyone.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising trackers.
- We do not use information from your Google, Microsoft or Apple account for anything except signing you in. We do not read your email, contacts, calendar or files.
Who can see it
Only people your program has added can sign in, and each sees what their role allows. Student accounts see less than adults. Pitprop Works can reach the records when needed to run and fix the service.
Where it is kept
Records are stored with Microsoft Azure and sent over encrypted connections. The app loads its typeface from Google Fonts.
Keeping and removing
Records stay while your program uses Pitprop. A program's owner can remove a person's access at any time. To have your account details or your program's records removed, write to the address below.
Students and children
Pitprop is not offered directly to children. A program's adults decide whether a student gets an account and add it themselves. Students are recorded by first name and last initial, and student accounts cannot upload pictures.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version and its date will be posted here.
